Public Safety: Emergency Management
In the world today, our natural environment and even man-made factors like resource development activities can have unpredictable and catastrophic consequences.
Indigenous people have experienced severe weather, wildfires, water contamination, hurricanes and a host of other emergency situations that has created individual and community strife.
The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) is working hard to ensure off-reserve status and non-status Indians, Métis and Southern Inuit are represented in the process of Emergency Management. CAP is engaged in a variety of Emergency Management steps that will generate a sense of safety, less vulnerability, and resiliency for Indigenous people and communities.
