Constitution and
By-Laws 1. Membership
A. The Members of the society are the applicants for incorporation of the
Society, and those persons who subsequently have become members, in accordance
with these bylaws and, in either case, have not ceased to be Members. B.
Membership in the society shall consist of three type, including Full Members,
Associate Members, and Honourary Members.
(i) Any person or local organization (hereinafter referred to
as "Local" may apply for membership as a Full Member of the Society provided
that the applicant:
(a) in the case of a person
(1) has been resident of the Province of British Columbia
for the (3) months prior to the application;
(2) is over sixteen (16) years of age at the time of the application;
and
(3) if of native Indian ancestry
in the case of a local
(1) operated within the Province of British Columbia
(2) has a minimum of nine (9) members, who are also full members
of the Society;
(3) has membership requirements identical to the membership
requirements of the Society membership prescribe for persons pursuant
in Article 1.B.(I)(a);
(4) holds an annual meeting at least once during every calendar
year at which time election for directors and Officers must be held;
(5) holds General Membership Meetings at least once every
three (3) months:
(6) maintains the files and minutes of all General Meetings
and makes such minutes available to any members of the Local upon request;
and
(7) maintains a bank account;
(Note: Items C, D, & E are not membership criteria)
F. The spouse and children of a Full Member of the society who
do not themselves qualify for full membership may become Associate Members
of the society.
G. Any person who in the opinion of the Directors of Members
merits special consideration may be accepted as an Honourary Member of
the society by a Resolution of the directors or the Members at a meeting
called for that purpose.
H. Every
member shall uphold the constitution and comply with these By-Laws as
may exist from time to time. |
