Who
we are:
The Aboriginal Council of Manitoba was created in October 2004 in response
to the lack of a representative voice on a federal level to lobby effectively
for the urban/off-reserve Aboriginal people of Manitoba. The ACM is the
inclusive, status-blind representative voice for Aboriginal people living
in Manitoba, regardless if they are Status, Métis, Inuit or Non-Status.
Mandate:
The mandate of the Aboriginal Council of Manitoba is; to advocate for
and represent all Aboriginal people residing on provincial land within
Manitoba and promote their cultural identity, educational, socio-economic
interests and general welfare.
