All researchers are asked to complete an annual registration form and sign a daily register.
Staff will undertake limited research for inquirers and will assist researchers in identifying and locating relevant records in their collection.
Collections & Description
Researchers in PEI records have an advantage in that a large number of the records for the island have been entered into a Master Name Index. This index is made up of index cards filed alphabetically by name. The cards provide information gleaned from gravestone inscriptions, census records, passenger lists, marriage registers, newspapers, funeral home registers and other miscellaneous records.
The archives also has many published and unpublished genealogies for PEI families, as well as family files and community histories.
